If you are like me, you probably have a couple of LCD screens at home that are simply wasting space. But did you know that you can easily convert them to flat screen televisions with just a bit of work and hardly any expenses at all? It surely beats leaving them in a corner to gather dust mites and balls. Also it is much cheaper than buying a brand you television.

The monitor External TV tuner or USB TV adapter Computer if you use the USB adapter Once you have the above, you need to decide how you want to watch the new TV. Do you want to have it hooked on to the computer or you want to have it as a separate entity altogether? With an external TV tuner you don't need the pc at all. With the USB adapter you do. However this will also allow your new TV to also double as a regular monitor display.
You can find TV-tuners at any local electronic stores and they are not expensive anymore. They used to be quite tough on the money years ago, but now you can get them really cheap.
If you buy the external type, it comes with a remote control, so when you buy it, make sure to test every single button on it to ensure proper functioning. You might need to adjust the basic settings on your new television regardless of the type you get.
Getting yourself a brand new television when you have such a cheap option at hand is really a waste of money. Why not use what you already have available at home and get with only a minimum of costs and effort a second TV for your home that you can enjoy all by yourself if you so choose while the rest of the family watches something you don't care about at all.
